Downloaded URLs

A guide to the downloaded URLs metric in Indexing Insight

Updated over 2 weeks ago

The downloaded URL metric is unique to Indexing Insight.

What are Downloaded URLs?

The total number of unique URLs that have been downloaded from enabled sitemaps.

When you enable XML Sitemaps, our scheduler downloads the URLs from these sitemaps daily. Then, we deduplicate the URLs we find in selected sitemaps.

The deduplicated URLs is the unique URLs we download from your XML sitemaps.

How can you use this metric?

The downloaded URLs metric helps tell you how many URLs we have downloaded from your sitemaps.

The metric can help you determine whether our tool has downloaded all the expected URLs from your sitemaps.

Our tool automatically deduplicates URLs when we download sitemaps.

This means the downloaded URLs will never 100% match the total number of URLs within your sitemaps. But they should closely match.

Troubleshooting Downloaded URLs

If the downloaded URLs do not match the total number of URLs in your sitemaps, please take a look at the following support articles:
