Learn how to add and remove users

Indexing Insight allows you to invite team members to your account.

In the following guide we will go through the following:

Types of Users

There are 4 types of users in Indexing Insight.

Each user type allows you to be flexible in how much your team members can view, filter or manage Indexing Insight.

Below is a list of the 4 user types and the user type permissions:

Owner

A owner user is the account admin and the user who signed in with their Google account.

Editor

An editor user can act on behalf of the owner to start monitoring new projects or edit current monitoring projects.

Viewer

A viewer user can only view monitoring projects that they have been granted access.

Billing*

A billing user can view the billing portal, download invoices and cancel subscriptions.

*Billing user is only needed if you require a finance team to pay for the tool.

The total number of users you can add to an account is based on your plan limits.

How to add a new user

The owner user can add a new user by going to account settings.

In the account settings click on "Invite user" under the User Management setting.

You will be taken to the Invite user page. The first thing you will need to do is enter the following information for a new user:

  • Full Name: Enter the name of the user

  • Email: Enter the email address of the user.

  • Role: Select Editor, Viewer or Billing user role.

Then you need select the websites in your account that you want the user to access:

Then hit "Invite user". An invitation email will automatically be sent to users email.

Note: A Viewer user will only be able to access the websites that you have granted access. An editor will be able to create new monitoring projects but they won't be able to view a website you've not given permission to access.

How to view and remove users

You can see a list of invited users in the Account settings > User Management.

You can remove the user from your account by just clicking on the "Remove" action.

This will immediately stop the user from accessing your account. And they will not be able to log into Indexing Insight.

Note: If you accidentally remove a user then please get in touch with our support team ([email protected]).

As you won't be able to add the user again.
