Why grant Google Search Console access?

Explaining why we need Google Search Console access.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

In this article we explain why we need access to your Google Search Console account.

Why do you need Google Search Console access?

We require Google Search Console access to monitor Google indexing at scale.

Granting us access to your Google Search Console account gives us the tools to help configure your account and grants us permission to inspect your site's page URLs.

To monitor the indexing health of your website(s) we need you to grant us permission to: View and manage Search Console data for your verified sites.

What are you able to view and edit?

When you grant us access to your Google Search Console account, we can:

Sitemaps

  • View the list of submitted XML sitemap indexes

  • View the list of submitted XML sitemaps

Sites

  • View a list of verified domain properties

  • View the list of verified web properties

  • Add web properties

  • Delete web properties

URL Inspection

  • Inspect the page URLs of verified sites

How are you able to view and edit Google Search Console?

Our tool uses the official Google Search Console API to manage verified sites in your account.

For further information please read Google Search Console API documentation.

Can I revoke Google Search Console access?

Yes. To revoke Indexing Insight access all you need to do is go to Google Account settings > Data & Privacy > Third-Party Apps and Services > Indexing Insight.

From there, you can delete all access and permissions.

If you delete permissions while using the tool we won't be able to monitor Google indexing at scale for your website.
